Oh yes also as most of us know all pure bred performance breeds have the genetic hunting traits passed down from the wolf to the dog,Scent hounds, herding dogs, sight dogs ,killing dogs,.All genitic traits passed down from the wolf to dog ,question is could the dogs that specialized in such fields have come from the weaker links in a wolf pack higharchy.for it is certain that these specialist are better at what they do then the wolf from wich they were domesticated,or allowed domestication as it were ?

Well certainly it would be hard to imagine earlyman to run a "Kennel"with simple living being a great task in itself, but it is for this same reason I find it also hard to believe that early man would take on extra mouths to feed ,unless of course they had served a purpose that would assist in mans survival thus earning a place living among men .I do not believe man allowed domestication of the wolf wether initiated by wolf or not,for simple companionship but for more or less to utilize the wolfs hunting traits for mans survival. So to say that the wolf completely is responible for its own domestication is I believe a overstatement ,because it was mans need for assistance wich was the main factor in man having the last word on wether or not the wolf should be allowed Domestication,Yet it is true it is hard to imagine early man running a kennel with survival itself being a hard enough Task in itself I think an answere to the mystery is inevitable with more research on the subject, and the discovery of more evidence being found to help support the theories being presented on such subjects, such as Early dipictions of hunts were man is shown to be accomapanied by the wolf ,by etchings on cave walls .Thank you
